Represented our Client in obtaining a dynamic + injunction order from the Delhi High Court against rogue websites

Litigation Updates: Our Firm recently represented our Client in obtaining a dynamic + injunction order from the Delhi High Court against rogue websites. This order empowers our Client to directly notify government agencies and ISPs to block newly identified websites hosting infringing content, ensuring faster action against digital copyright violations.

Our Client, known for their extensive repertoire of films and other copyrighted content, approached the court to address the widespread issue of illegal distribution and streaming of their works on such rogue websites. The dynamic+ injunction not only targets the initial 71 rogue websites but also extends to future infringing websites identified by the Plaintiffs, ensuring a new mechanism to counteract evolving piracy threats.

The Court directed domain registrars to suspend the infringing domains and disclose their details. It also instructed Google LLC to de-index these websites from its search results. Furthermore, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) were ordered to block access to these websites, while government agencies, including the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), were tasked with issuing blocking orders against the rogue websites identified by the Plaintiffs.

The matter was argued by Nikhil Chawla and assisted by Om Ram and Riya Gupta.
